We just got home this afternoon from a nice, but very short, (less than 24 hours) time in Johannesburg, taking Elder Sinclair over to fly home tonight at 9:00 pm. He has finished his mission!  The time really does fly by!! Here are a few pictures....

It's a beautiful time of year in South Africa and Swaziland!

Elder SInclair's first time at the Johannesburg South Africa Temple!

A darling family all dressed in white walked by as we were taking pictures.
They were being sealed and had just taken a picture...

Sister Leavitt fixed a farewell South African dinner for Elder Sinclair and we were invited, since we stayed at the mission home last night too. The Assistants also joined us and Elder King, who recently had his tonsils out and has been recovering at the mission home.

Afrikaan dish called Boboti
It's made with mince (ground beef), butter, onions, eggs, bread, milk, curry, tumeric, coriander and cumin, vinegar and lemon juice, a chopped apple. almonds and seedless raisins.  It's served with sliced bananas, desiccated coconut and chutney on top.
It is also served over rice, made with golden syrup and sultanas.

She served a typical dessert of custard with a square of jello on top.
(She put peaches in the jello and added whipped cream.)

Our wonderful mission president, Pres. Dane Leavitt and his amazing wife, Ruth with the departing elder, Elder Ammon Sinclair!  (He had no suit since he was originally called to serve in Mozambique, so he borrowed Elder Witts' jacket for the picture. Ü )
We will really miss him but will see him again for sure, since he lives in Queen Creek, AZ!!

When we stopped at the Mission Office this morning , there were two packages for us from R. Wayne and Leslie Johnson with a filled Christmas stocking in each package! So cute of them to send stockings full of candy, and treats, cans of chopped green chilies, corn tortillas and Christmas socks!  Ü MERRY CHRISTMAS to us (the day before our 46th anniversary)!
